Our App page brings together every tool from the Europe Discovery Toolbox, the Quests and the Games in one place. Each one is a small, self-contained web app — free, no account, yours to keep.

• One file (.html) and everything inside. No folders, no installs, and no build steps. You download one file, and it just works.

• Zero friction. There is no account to create, no tracking, and no data sent to a server. Privacy isn't just a marketing claim here; it is a technical fact. Because there is no server, there is nothing to leak.

• Offline-ready. Travel guides should work on a remote stretch of coast or on a train without a signal. Add any app to your home screen, and it opens fullscreen, working perfectly without an internet connection.

• Refreshingly clean. No ads, no pop-ups, and no trackers. They load almost instantly and consume minimal data, keeping your battery—and your peace of mind—intact.

• Truly yours. Our apps don't "expire" like most apps. There are no mandatory updates and no subscription traps. Download it today, and it will be yours to use for years to come.

We believe technology should enrich your journey, not complicate it. That is why our tools are released under a Creative Commons (CC BY 4.0) license. Our apps are free to use, share, and adapt. Nothing is hidden, and everything is inspectable—a commitment that aligns with our mission to build a social-impact platform free from commercial noise. Whether you are building a tour with the Tour Planner, uncovering your Traveller Archetype, or tracing the hidden threads of history with our Discovery Games, you never carry more than you need.

The Europe Discovery Toolbox is for those who prefer to pave their own way.  With our Tour Planner you build your own tour and with the Bucket List you track the World Heritage Sites you want to see, it gives you the essentials to take the helm and plan independently.  Next came the Europe Discovery Quests. If the Toolbox is your map, the Quests are your game plan — discover your traveller type with the Traveller Archetype Test, let Surprise Me! turn indecision into an adventure, and keep the people and moments that made a place yours with Local Voice. Part game, part companion, they make every step of the journey feel a little more like your own.

And now we've opened a third door: Europe Discovery Games. Follow the hidden threads that link Europe's places across the centuries, track a location down from its clues, put the timeline back in order, and match each region to what it's known for. Build your streak as you go, rise through the ranks, and let one game lead you to the next. Free and interactive, no account needed — just you, the map, and the stories waiting to be found.

With the new games it’s a fun, low-pressure way to deepen your connection to the heritage sites that make Europe so unique!

Five tools to play, plan, and reflect

We have designed these tools to guide you from the first spark of inspiration to looking back on your memories:  

1. Traveller Archetype Test. Discover your travel style through 32 scenarios. Are you a Trailblazer, Scholar, Wanderer, or Companion? Knowing your type deepens your engagement and helps us serve recommendations that actually fit how you like to travel.  

2. Trip Planner. Turn who you are into the trip you actually want. Load your Traveller Profile, gather your candidate regions, and weigh them into a clear shortlist to take onward.  

3. Surprise Me! (journey generator). Tired of decision fatigue? Set your starting point and travel radius, and our generator will curate an unexpected region, city, hidden gem, or scenic route just for you.  

4. UNESCO Challenge (bucket list & explorer status). Track the UNESCO World Heritage sites you’ve visited. Watch your status climb from Bronze Explorer to Grand Master as you hit new milestones.  

5. Local Voice. Not every journey needs a score. This is a quiet, private space to turn an encounter with a local into a lasting insight—a souvenir that no photo can capture.

To make your experience truly immersive, every tour now comes with its own digital sidekick:

• The Design Tour with the app Observing Buildings. A quest featuring ten landmark buildings designed to sharpen your design eye. Discover the "why" behind the "wow".  

• The Trade Tour with the app Trade Quest. A journey through ten trading towns that once formed a global powerhouse. Do you have what it takes to be crowned the ultimate merchant? 

• The Water Tour with the app Water Level. You lead the water management! A hands-on challenge to keep the tides back and the land dry.  

• The Zaan Tour with the app Captain's Log. All aboard the Zaan! Interactive missions at every hub to keep young explorers busy all day.  

Yet, we stand at a tipping point. A recent review by the IUCN confirms that nearly half of all natural World Heritage sites are under threat from industrial activities like illegal logging and mining, while cultural treasures—from the historic ports of Europe to the ancient streets of Hoi An—face the relentless pressure of extreme weather and climate change.

This reality brings us to the most pressing question for anyone who loves to explore:
How do you experience the world's most extraordinary places without diminishing them for the generations who follow? 

We believe that sustainable travel is not about giving things up—it is about shifting your perspective. When you travel with awareness, you connect more deeply, spend more locally, and leave with memories that feel genuinely earned. We have turned this philosophy into a practical app. It is designed to be honest, helpful, and above all, not a burden.

What you will find in our Sustainable Travel app:

• Stage-by-stage guidance. Practical tips for every part of your journey, from planning low-impact routes to respecting local customs.

• CO₂ Calculator. A simple way to estimate your travel emissions and understand your footprint.

• Sustainable Travel Checklist. A go-to guide specifically designed for travelling within Europe to ensure your impact remains positive.

For website owners: Sustainable Travel is available as a downloadable .html file that you can embed directly on your own website — free to use under the Creative Commons licence (CC BY 4.0).

What’s new in 2.0?

With the feedback from our community in mind, we have built Tour Planner 2.0 around four key improvements:

• Now fully in English. The Tour Planner is now available in English, Dutch and German.

• GPX export. Ready to hit the road? Download your tour as a GPX file and load it directly into apps like Komoot, Garmin, or other GPS navigation tools. 

• KML export. Do you prefer viewing your tour in Google Maps or Google Earth? With our new KML export, you can put all your stops on the map at once. 

 Our tool remains what it has always been: completely browser-based, no tracking, no account required, and lightning fast.  

Looking ahead: The road to 3.0

We aren't sitting still. While 2.0 goes live, we are already developing plans for Tour Planner 3.0. Our roadmap includes ambitious goals to further enrich your experience:

• Eco-conscious routing. We aim to integrate train-first suggestions and tips for low-carbon travel.  

• Deeper cultural context. We are working on providing richer background information on UNESCO sites, historical context, and insider knowledge at every stop.  

• Bucket List integration. This feature will allow you to automatically highlight your own "Bucket List" locations within the results.  

• PDF Travel Dossier. We are designing a beautifully crafted, printable PDF dossier of your complete itinerary, including maps and cultural notes.
